More fun facts!

So the atmosphere on Venus is made up of (mostly) carbon dioxide. The atmosphere there is so thick (roughly 1000 times thicker than the atmosphere here on earth) that you could, theoretically, strap wings to your arms and fly around.

Humans.

Flying.

COOL

At the moment, Neptune’s internal heating cannot readily be explained. A hypothesis has risen that states that the large quantities of methane deep in the atmosphere, and the extreme pressures acting upon said methane, may allow for the decomposition of the methane into carbon, which in turn may form diamond crystals (potentially as large as a pebble) that fall back down to Neptune, producing internal heat.

Raining.

Fucking.

Diamonds.

COOL

Food for thought

Your body contains hydrogen atoms that were created roughly 3 minutes after the big bang.

While you may be 22 years old, the matter that is ‘you’ is billions of years old.

Think that one through.

Holy freakin crap

R2D2 has been found in the new Star Trek movie.

527055

Holy shit.

Apparently he has also been found in Close Encounters of the Third Kind as well:

1734full

and after locating these images I found this on youtube:

Excuse me while I go pick my brains up off the floor.

MIND ASPLODE.

Never trust a man in a tunic

Long time no update, huh?

I’ve been busy, fuck you. :) School really kicked up a notch and required more attention from me. Less time needed to be spent aimlessly raping and pillaging the internet, and more time needed to be spent in the books. I don’t even know where to begin so you’ll have to deal with this until I come up with more.

Say hello to the Sega Steamcast. A modified Sega Dreamcast crafted to look as though it came from the Tesla age:

steamcast7

Larger/more images can be found on the “Project: Steamcast” page. I’ve also updated the “Project: My Computer” page with pictures of my computer.

Enjoy fapping.

Watch the temple topple over

Y helo thar. I’ve been absent for quite some time now – between work, school, and full time drinking it’s a bit hard to find 10 minutes to sit down and update this thing.

Did a lot of interesting and neat shit in the past month and a half; with more interesting, and neat shit coming up. The Lamb of God and Children of Bodom show will soon engulf my soul with hate, and hopefully I can get my ass down to the LSC soon for some quality edumacashinal stuff. Myrtle Beach calls to me like a hooker in Vegas.

Temporary hiatus? Perhaps.

Spring Break

..from school at least. I am still working this entire week, which surprisingly is not half as bad as you would think. Full time school and full time work sucks ass. Having to do only one of the above.. well, it’s awesome.

That time has come again. My poor car needs an oil change.. gah fuck. I love this car, but Jesus H. Christ is it expensive to keep to maintained properly. Instead of forking over nearly $200 to the dealership to do an oil change + air filter replacement, I took it upon myself to go buy the supplies and do that shit myself. 9 quarts of Mobil 1 0w40 ran me $60. The oil filter ran me $25. Two air filters ran (surprisingly) $40.

WTF.

Such horse shit.. but whatever. I need to get on getting rid of this car for something a little more economical. Perhaps the new 2010 Camaro? :P

So after a mild hiatus I am back in full swing pirating massive amounts of ridiculous shit. In March alone I have successfully download well over 500 albums. A total of 57 seasons worth of television shows, and only a handful of movies. When you have 5tb, you tend to try to fill the void space as fast as possible. I have yet to actually enjoy all of the above media, but I am slowly but surely hammering my way through all of it. The most recent enjoyment was In Bruges.

What a badass. fucking. movie.

Extremely dark and funny humor, a great plot, great cast, great set.. and of course Clemence Poesy:

God’s second gift to my eyeballs.

A lot of new bands that seem to have struck a chord as well. A lot of trip-hop, IDM, and black metal. Too much to list.

Not much else has been going on as of late.. trying my best to get through this bullshit weather. I need summer, and I need it now.

Grand week. This past Friday Ben, Chris, and I ventured out to NYC to see a Cradle of Filth show. Sceptic Flesh and Satyricon were the two support bands and they put on an aboslutely killer show. Satyricon live beats the aboslute shit out of their extremely flat and un-emotional studio releases. Satyr captivates like a motherfucker! I’ve found a video of Satyricon ripping it up (and yes, this video is from the show we were at):

Black crow.. on a tombstone! I’m looking through all these videos that were posted up from the show.. I am waiting to find the video of the douchebag that kicked me in the eye. Motherfucker.

Here is a vid of when Cradle first came one.. starting with Godspeed’s intro into Shat Out Of Hell:

Of course videos can’t do anyone justice, but they’re enough to give you an idea. It was a damn good show, and well worth the $35 or so.

Goat

What horseshit. I’ve somehow become the corporate whore – I have to not only do work at my company, but apparently my company is now whoring me out to other companies and charging them for my work. I haven’t gone and done any work yet, but as soon as I start I will be demanding some kind of $$ raise. That is just bullshit. We’re a printing company, not a ‘we do every little fucking thing you need’ company.

I’ve managed to get my hands on some really cheap storage. I mean real fuckin’ cheap. I landed a pair of Seagate 1.5tb drives for $180. You simply cannot beat 3tb’s of storage for under $200. Both drives had clean firmware and were shipped in solid packaging. I set ‘em up in a raid 0 (I have backups, fuck off) and thoroughly tested the array. Not a single bad sector, block, or weird noise from either drive. I can only hope they remain this way.

To celebrate my now 5tb of total storage, I decided to go a little nuts and pirate some new stuff. Between Friday and today, I have acquired every single episode of Futurama, Family Guy, Arrested Development, Battlestar Galactica, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and The Office.

Oh yea.

I had an extremely strong itch for some modification-goodness last week, so I decided I was going to rip apart my beloved Grado SR-60 headphones and give them a facelift as well as some new cabling. Some sanding, paint, wire mesh screen, HD-414 ear pads, Canare StarQuad cable, and a Canare f12 1/8 mini connector later, I’d say they’re pretty damn sexy:

Not to mention they sound fucking unreal! I just bought a Beyerdynamic’s headband to add to them as well. Should be good!

The new Futurama movie gets released tomorrow. By released, I mean in stores. If I had meant released as in it was released for pirates on the internet, then it was ‘released’ a month ago. Still, I enjoy dvd9 rips.. and they’re impossible to find since everyone loves them some h.264. Hopefully someone puts the full rip online, otherwise it’s Netflix for me.

I have nothing more to add. Hasn’t been all that eventful of a week. I think I got drunkwas sober at some point in the last 3 weeks. Yep.

Ballooooon balloooooooooon

Bomb digity ass weekend. Ventured up to Ithaca to visit madam Meghan and her colorful friends. When I say colorful, I absolutely mean it. Such interesting, down to earth, and above all, fun people! The town itself is beautiful and has a very warm vibe to it. The waterfall was pretty cool, despite being nearly completely frozen over. The live band we caught was also pretty rockin’.. not amazing, but enough to get me moving around. Groovy.

I ended up leaving with a solid list of very cool music from Meg’s roomie. I pulled entirely way too many albums off Waffle’s when I got home, and am now currently in the processes of listening to all of them. Good stuff.

Work is getting interesting; it appears as though I will be pulling some surplus hardware over to Jersey soon. I’m going to have to update our FTP with something that has some more balls. Get an online repository up and running for clients. Lot’s to do.

Anyway, on to the actual point of this post. I have learned that on January 22nd the world lost one kick ass motherfucker:

Charles Wesley Cooper, III

That is some sad fucking shit. Two days after the release of their latest album, Telefon Tel Aviv member Charles was found dead. I have a feeling it was more than likely a suicide/overdose, but who knows. The news claims he was ‘missing’ for a week before they found him.

Fly high dude, thanks for the music.
